Armed with knowledge about the best times to hunt, the ideal locations based on physical ability, and the tools of the trade. We’ve honed our skills to turn every expedition into a rewarding experience! 
 

From the rhythmic sound of the water against the shore to the feeling of cool stones in my hands, each moment spent rock hunting is a testament to the natural wonders that Michigan has to offer and I can't wait to share the experience with you!

Schedule your tour time with a tour guide!

Meet in Parking lot

You will receive an email 20 hours before your tour with the address to the parking lot of your tour. All tours are in Traverse City and depending on weather, water levels and any limitations will determine where we will adventure off too. Note- Rain is the best time to rock hunt! We never cancel due to rain

Meet & Greet

The first 10 mins are for meeting your tour guide & the other that are a part of your tour with you. Only 6 people per tour.

Education

Education is a huge part of this tour. Helping you understand what a Petoskey Stone is and what to look for while on your adventure. We do have plenty of Petoskey Stones in a box for you to see the shape, size, color and texture. They are all very unique but also have similar patterns and colors.

Hiking to Destination

After learning about the Petoskey Stone, we will adventure out onto a short 10 mins walk/hike to our destination.
Note- depending on the weather, water levels and season this time for walking/hiking can change.

Rock Hunting

Our rock hunting adventure will be 60-90 mins. We have many tools for you to use to search for the most beautiful stone in Northern Michigan.

We have a small amount of water shoes if you need shoes. Our supply is very limited at this time.

Hiking back to parking lot

Everyone will walk away with at least one Petoskey Stone at the end of the tour.

Wash Petoskey Stones

Our tour guides take great pride in finding these incredible state stones and will make sure to wash every Petoskey Stone found that day for you to take home.
